Not sure what to say here. On the one hand, saving money is good. On the other, there’s something about Google I find hard to trust. In particular, the last paragraph of the article is bugging me:
Several other states have already switched to the service and it’s already in use by some local governments and universities in Colorado.
It makes me uneasy for some reason.

I’ve never understood any of the wacky conspiracies around this place. However, that horse is one of the scariest things I’ve ever seen!
Best I can tell, these people still aren’t 100% sure why they’re protesting. Well, other than the ones carrying pro-socialism signs.

This is nanny statism at its best; it seems as if the Colorado Department of Human Services is creating more regulations because it feels the state is responsible for raising children. Personally, I like to think a child’s welfare is a parental responsibility, and the free market would determine which day cares’ rules are the best, but that’s just me. I don’t have kids, so what do I know?

I’m not a gun owner, mostly because I feel like I’d be tempting fate with how accident prone I am, but I do support this. As mentioned in the story, it’s a little odd that you have to pay to carry a gun under your clothing, but not if you carry it openly. This is the correct fix for this conflict.
In addition, these permits don’t protect law-abiding citizens from gun-wielding criminals. If anything, they protect the criminals!
Yep, these kick in at midnight. Nothing seems too bad on the surface, but it’s a bunch of government interference where it just isn’t needed.

I see his point, and I agree that public radio doesn’t need government money, but I have to wonder if it’s time to put this aside for now. This whole battle is coming across as conservatives looking to get revenge for the firing of Juan Williams. I really think we need to be further removed from that incident before legislation cutting off NPR’s federal funding even has a chance of passing.

Needless to say, these officials are right. The example cited involves the U.S. Department of Transportation telling the county they’ve used the wrong font on several street signs. Seriously? The federal government is looking to control stuff that minuscule? Why can’t something like that be handled at the local level?

I’m not even sure what to say here. Looks like a combination of nanny-statism and lobbyists getting their way is tripping up convenience stores and liquor stores. Yes, convenience and grocery stores should be able to sell the same stuff as liquor stores. The state disagrees, so making low-level alcohol products the domain of the non-liquor stores is a compromise? Seriously?
This looks to be one of the bigger stories coming off the AP Wire today.
Don’t get me wrong, I understand wanting to clarify a vague law, but I have the feeling this is just another means to persecute MMJ users in Colorado. Even though it’s legal, years of brainwashing about the evils of marijuana seem to be driving a backlash against the growing medical marijuana industry in Colorado.
If you’re going to test for THC levels, why not do the same for other legal drugs? For example, is there a maximum level of Vicodin, or any number of prescription pain killers, I can have in my system before facing charges of operating a vehicle when I’m not fit?
